TERRITORIES: NORTH & SOUTH AMERICA

Cybersex, a duo who have been noted for their speed house performances, started back in 2018 when Stef de Haan and Nick Edwards both from Amsterdam bonded over chaotic chemistry. Together they also founded and run the esteemed De Reünie, where they are both residents. A venture that promotes a safer clubbing environment, creating a unique intimate family atmosphere at its events.

A chemistry they wanted to bottle up, the concept for the aesthetic and sound of Cybersex as has always been at the root of their ethos and inspiration. Stef explains that when performing as Cybersex, it leads into a more speed house and playful side of music, that hasn't always fit into his solo work. Full throttle attitude and sonic chemistry, something that you can’t fake, allows the duo to experiment in exciting new ways, with both their production and mixing.

Together, they create the purest form of groove and rhythm, many elements of dub, house and techno can be found, but just not at the tempo you are used to. It’s fast paced, so much so, that many tracks have a habit to become unrecognizable.

Cybersex has a soft spot for glitchy synthesisers, modulators and a sea of drum machines. One thing will always be central, the constant development of their sound and the search for groove and rhythm.

Closing off the year with shows at RADION Amsterdam and for Klubnacht at PAN in Hannover, they will bring their unique performance to London for the first time in February, for XXL’s massive London debut at Drumsheds.
